The Chesapeake Bay holds more than 18 trillion gallons of water and is the largest estuary in the United States. The Susquehanna River provides the Chesapeake Bay with almost 50 percent of the fresh water that comes into the Bay and is one of the three largest rivers in the Bay. The Chesapeake Bay Watershed is currently home to over 17 million people and by 2030, it is predicted that the population will increase to nearly 20 million people.
